Application path
Sealing a PET bottle for essential oils
A barrier liner and an induction seal for an aromatic oil that would migrate through a simple foam disc.
The buying task
The buyer fills a PET bottle with an essential oil or a similar aromatic formulation and needs a seal that keeps the oil in, the aroma in, and the cap tamper-evident.
Conditions that change the answer
The contents (oil, concentration, alcohol), the bottle material, the neck finish, the cap, the shelf-life target and the line (induction or not). A high-barrier foil structure is a candidate; a plain PE foam disc is not.
Validation path
- 01
Confirm the contents and the neck finish
Buyer: Product, concentration, bottle material, cap and storage.
- 02
Select the facing and the foil
CY Seal: A candidate structure, not a compatibility claim.
- 03
Sample on the buyer’s bottles
Both: Seal, torque and appearance under the line conditions.
- 04
Storage and leak check
Buyer: Record the time, temperature and result.
- 05
Write the specification
Both: The version the order is made against.
Boundaries
A foil liner is not automatically compatible with every oil; the facing and the adhesive must be checked. A sample pass is not a shelf-life guarantee, and the induction settings are confirmed on the buyer’s line.
Candidate records
What is considered — and why.
A candidate is not a compatibility claim. The notes below say why it is on the list; the test decides whether it stays.
High-Barrier Liners
A foil-based structure for solvents, essential oils and formulations that would migrate through a simple foam or paper liner.
