Venting a container that builds pressure
When a product generates gas or pressure, a vented liner can equalise it without turning the cap into a leak.
The buying task
The buyer has a container that bulges, leaks or is hard to open because the contents build pressure, and wants a closure that lets the pressure equalise without letting the product out.
Conditions that change the answer
The product, the gas it generates, the storage temperature, the cap and whether a barrier is also required. A vented membrane is a candidate; a standard foil seal may make the pressure worse.
Validation path
- 01
Describe the pressure and the product
Buyer: What builds the pressure, at what temperature, and what happens now.
- 02
Select the membrane
CY Seal: A candidate vent rate, not a universal answer.
- 03
Pressure and leak trial
Both: Record the conditions and the result.
- 04
Confirm the structure
Both: Vented alone or combined with an induction seal.
Boundaries
A vented liner is not a universal leak-proof seal. The vent rate, the product contact and the cap must be tested; a sample that vents in one condition may not vent in another.
Candidate records
What is considered — and why.
A candidate is not a compatibility claim. The notes below say why it is on the list; the test decides whether it stays.
Vented Liners
A breathable membrane that lets a container equalise pressure while keeping the product in — for products that build gas or pressure.

A foil-based structure for solvents, essential oils and formulations that would migrate through a simple foam or paper liner.
